Effie obtained her JD from Boston University School of Law.
During her second year in law school, Effie participated in Boston University’s Immigration Clinic, where she represented clients seeking Special Immigrant Juvenile Status and asylum. In particular, Effie won the asylum case for her client, which involved multiple expert witnesses and a remand from the Board of Immigration Appeals.
Effie also has interests in litigation and tax law. She interned at Harvard Legal Aid Bureau where she represented indigent clients in divorce proceedings. She also interned with Massachusetts Department of Revenue where she conducted legal research and assisted litigation on a number of corporate tax cases.
Effie holds a B.A., magna cum laude, from George Washington University in International Affairs with a concentration in International Economics.
A native of Beijing, China, Effie is fluent in Mandarin and English.
